Bufallums
is a workshop where we make puppets and marionettes
out of recycled old paper and carton. For
us, recycling waete material is a way to recover
the values thar our consume society has lost.
The
pieces are handmade. We do not use any kind
of mould but the pieces are made one by one,
thus they are unique.
We
craft different types of puppets from finger
puppets, hand puppets and marionettes to characters
imagined for tales, exhibitions or particular
events.
To
make the paper paste we use cellulose glue
suitable for children use. When the pieces
are dried, we paint them with latex paints.
To dye the paper paste we use mineral earth
and natural pigments. The clothes of puppets
are recycled fabrics normally of cotton, linen
and wool. To glue them to the puppets we use
plastic glue also appropriate for school and
children use.
